It started September 13th 2009 at the MTV Video Music Awards when Taylor Swift won the price for Best Female Video. As she was giving her acceptance speech, Kanye West grabbed her microphone and said «Yo Taylor, I´m really happy for you. Imma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time, of all time!» The next day Kanyes interruption was covered by about every mainstream media, and the meme was popular already the day after the incident. This shocking and rude behavior inspired many to make their own versions of this in image macros, changing parts of the statement made by Kanye. President Obama, who had been rudely interrupted when he spoke before Congress, was in a mashup youtube-video made by a user who called himself freeyourpixels, interrupted by Kanye West. Someone also made a song out of the apology that Kanye posted on this blog the same night.
